The Sidney and Minnie Kosasa Community was named in honor of the parents of its lead donors, Dr. Thomas ’63 and Mi Kosasa, and his siblings Paul, Susan and Gloria ’68 Gainsley.

The Sidney and Minnie Kosasa Community was named in honor of the parents of its lead donors, Dr. Thomas ’63 and Mi Kosasa, and his siblings Paul, Susan and Gloria ’68 Gainsley.

Thanks to the generosity and vision of the Kosasa family for the grades 2 – 5 project, Punahou is able to provide a matching opportunity for donors, offering a limited number of premier naming opportunities at the $250,000 and $100,000 levels.

The Mauka to Makai Match supports the School’s vision for sustainable, flexible indoor and outdoor learning environments, and the Kosasa family has provided a wonderland of opportunity for generations of students to come.

Two unique matching opportunities are available:

Sustainable Studios

$500,000 naming opportunity for $250,000

  • Your gift of $250,000 (whether outright or pledged over time) will be matched, dollar for dollar, by funds gifted to the School by the Kosasa family.
  • With your gift, you can name one of 28 studio classrooms within the Sidney and Minnie Kosasa Community.

This naming opportunity will return to a $500,000 opportunity on July 1, 2018.

‘Auwai (bioswale)

$200,000 naming opportunity for $100,000

  • Your gift of $100,000 (whether outright or pledged over time) will be matched, dollar for dollar, by funds gifted to the School by the Kosasa family.
  • With your gift, you can name one of 10 portions of the ‘auwai within the Sidney and Minnie Kosasa Community.

This naming opportunity will return to a $200,000 opportunity on July 1, 2018.
