Carnival Art Gallery Moves Online

This year, the Punahou Carnival Art Gallery โ€“ Hawaiโ€˜iโ€™s largest art show โ€“ is a virtual public exhibition. Through Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 p.m., people on Oโ€˜ahu will be able to purchase items and arrange for a pick-up at the Punahou campus.

The gallery features more than 1,000 works of art created by nearly 300 Hawaiโ€˜i artists, including jewelry, paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking and glass. Proceeds from each piece of art are shared evenly between the contributing artist and the Carnivalโ€™s fundraising efforts for financial aid.

โ€œThis yearโ€™s Punahou Art gallery contains pieces from all over the island,” said Safiya Rufino ’22, a student organizer for the Art Gallery. “This incredible collection of works include exquisite handmade jewelry, compelling sculptures and one-of-a-kind art pieces. As an online gallery, viewers are able to have marvelous art pieces of varying mediums at their fingertips. On behalf of the Art Galley student coordinators, I am pleased to say this yearโ€™s selection of phenomenal art work will be a delight for all to see.โ€
