This year, the Punahou Carnival Art Gallery – Hawai‘i’s largest art show – is a virtual public exhibition. Through Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 p.m., people on O‘ahu will be able to purchase items and arrange for a pick-up at the Punahou campus.
The gallery features more than 1,000 works of art created by nearly 300 Hawai‘i artists, including jewelry, paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, woodworking and glass. Proceeds from each piece of art are shared evenly between the contributing artist and the Carnival’s fundraising efforts for financial aid.
“This year’s Punahou Art gallery contains pieces from all over the island,” said Safiya Rufino ’22, a student organizer for the Art Gallery. “This incredible collection of works include exquisite handmade jewelry, compelling sculptures and one-of-a-kind art pieces. As an online gallery, viewers are able to have marvelous art pieces of varying mediums at their fingertips. On behalf of the Art Galley student coordinators, I am pleased to say this year’s selection of phenomenal art work will be a delight for all to see.”
