Second-graders ended the school year with a burst of fun, taking part in Camp Maverick over six, adventure-filled days at the Kosasa Community. (Maverick – a beloved 2-year-old mallard duck – served as ambassador of the activities.) Organized by Outdoor Education faculty Andy Nelson and Shelby Ho ’01, the annual event was launched to teach students camping skills in preparation for future expeditions. Along with playing a variety of games in and around pop-up tents, the children enjoyed mini versions of camp food, including corn dogs, marshmallows, carrots and pizza.
Ready, Set, Camp Maverick!
