Alumni Golfers Tee up for PAA Tournament

More than 200 alumni golfers spent a windy day last Friday at Hawaii Prince Golf Club in Ewa Beach, for the 32nd Annual Punahou Alumni Association Golf Tournament.

The event is an annual tradition for many alumni, who play with the same teammates year after year. This was the first alumni golf tournament for President Mike Latham ’86, and PAA leaders presented him with a Norfolk pine bowl handcrafted by the father-in-law of golf committee chair Mark Kumamoto ’93.

Latham was extremely touched by the gift. Growing up, he said there was a Norfolk pine in his backyard, and it was a tree he enjoyed and admired. The bowl will have a special place in his office, Latham told the committee.
