Alumni Lūʻau Centennial Kicks Off in Southern California

It felt just like home in Southern California as more than 120 alumni and friends gathered on Santa Monica Beach to celebrate 100 years of Alumni Lūʻau with Punahou Alumni Association Southern California (PAASC). Guests shared conversation as they strung plumeria and orchid lei and enjoyed Hawaiian music by Haliʻi with steel guitar by Pat Quilter ’64 and impromptu hula. President Mike Latham ’86, Vice President Noelehua Lyons ’91 Archambault and Head Football Coach Nate Kia ’92 also offered updates from campus.

The milestone celebration was the first in a series of Alumni Lūʻau centennial events planned in Hawai‘i and on the mainland.

Spirit Weekend continued the next day in Chatsworth, where alumni gathered for a pep rally and plate lunch before cheering on the varsity football team in a matchup against nationally ranked Sierra Canyon School. For the 60-plus student-athletes, the weekend extended beyond the game, with a tour of SoFi Stadium and campus visits to UCLA and USC. View highlights from the weekend in the photo gallery below.
