Award-winning Broadway Satire: ‘Urinetown’

Punahou is proud to bring the three-time Tony Award-winning musical, “Urinetown,” to Dillingham stage, April 11 – 13.

Set in a dystopian city, the government has banned private toilets due to a 20-year drought, forcing citizens to pay to use public amenities. Amidst this despair, a hero emerges to face the corrupt corporation controlling the water, sparking a revolution for freedom.

The satirical Broadway show is an extravaganza of singing, tap dancing and a humorous take on deeper themes, from capitalism to environmental issues. It features the talents of 55 actors and crew, from the Academy and grade 8. For a blend of satire and musical fun, “Urinetown” is not to be missed.
