This spring, Punahou School launched its first-ever Girls Flag Football team, affirming a strong presence in the state’s inaugural season for the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH). With 24 talented athletes on the buff ’n blue roster, the team has secured 5 wins out of 6 games – and broken boundaries. “Establishing the groundwork for upcoming teams is more important than merely participating in the sport,” says Maryah Puletasi ’27, team captain. “Despite the team having no experience playing flag football, we are all connected by the willingness to win and learn together.”
