High school students from New York City’s Horace Mann School visited Punahou for a day in June to gain first-hand insight into ‘Ike Hawai’i and Hawaiian voyaging from Punahou’s faculty and students. This visit continues an exchange of learning between the schools that started in 2013, when students from Horace Mann School performed for PUEO students at Punahou, and Punahou students visited the New York school in 2016 in tandem with the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage. The visit was a joint coordination through the summer school course “Ke Kilohana: He Wa’a, He Moku, He Moku, He Wa’a” and Kuaihelani Center for ‘Ike Hawai’i.
