On the Cover: Coco Heahlke ’28
Heahlke’s passion for STEM was apparent from a young age. By the time she was in the third grade, Heahlke was already part of the FIRST Lego League robotics program. Her enthusiasm and dedication have only grown since those early years. Today, she is a proud member of Punahou’s 6962 Pokébolts robotics team. “I am lucky enough to work with such talented teammates,” she says. “Going to the world championships this past April was an experience that showed me our potential as a team.”
Beyond engineering, Heahlke is also an avid paddler – but prototyping is never far from her mind. “I am able to merge my two interests by working on a sustainable prototype paddle from naturally derived fibers combined with carbon fiber.”
