Sally Mingarelli is the new Academy assistant principal for curriculum and faculty. Mingarelli attended Colorado College and earned a master’s in chemistry with a focus on science education from University of California, Berkeley. She is currently a doctoral student in organizational leadership and change at University of Southern California.
Mingarelli started her teaching career in Honolulu at Assets School. She then continued teaching at Lakeside School in Seattle. Most recently she was the director of experiential learning at The Webb Schools in Southern California.
“The most important elements of my job as an educational leader are to sustain a community where adults care deeply for students and for each other, and to create a supportive environment that enables everyone to tackle challenges, experience growth and setbacks, and undertake deep and meaningful learning,” said Mingarelli.
“We look forward to having Sally on campus. I am confident in her experience and her commitment to support faculty in this time of educational change,” said Academy Principal Dr. Emily McCarren.
