The Junior School is buzzing with activity as decreasing COVID-19 case numbers on O‘ahu have allowed Punahou to move into the Green Alert Tier. Although safety protocols are still in place, Junior School students can now take part in several activities that previously were restricted. For instance, kindergartners can now visit their regular art and music classrooms for instruction. After spring break, kindergartners and first graders will be able to return to the Kosasa Learning Commons for library sessions, while older Junior School students have already been able to visit the library and check out books. Recently, kindergarten students enjoyed a special visit from President Mike Latham ’86.
The playgrounds also have come alive for outdoor play, and singing and music resumed in assigned outdoor spaces for students in grades K – 5.
In Case Middle School, students will switch classrooms during their core periods, and orchestra and Band will welcome their students back for in-person music in either large indoor spaces or outdoors.
