Alumni will have an opportunity to embark on another overseas adventure – this time, a 14-night tour of Turkey, led by Mei-mei Zane ’84 Engel and Mert Taner, one of Turkey’s most sought-after historical guides. The tour, from Oct. 7 – 21, 2019, is the third trip organized by the Punahou Alumni Travel Program.
Engel has been leading groups to Turkey since 2010, creating deep and personal exposure to the country and culture through excursions to world-renowned natural wonders, culinary experiences and visits to villages that preserve ancient traditions and practices.
The tour includes four- and five-star hotel accommodations, a bilingual guide and trip leader for the entire trip, three cooking demonstrations, air travel within Turkey, two boat cruises, most meals, all museum entrance fees, a professional driver and air-conditioned bus, luggage handling (one suitcase per person) and hotel gratuity. There also will be a hosted pre-tour gathering in Hawai‘i to meet fellow travel companions and discuss trip preparation with Engel.
The cost is $5,045 (double occupancy) or $5,920 (single). A nonrefundable $1,000 per person deposit is required. To learn more, email alumni@punahou.edu or call Marni Bienfang ’97 Sakumoto, Alumni Relations Program Officer, at 808.983.5022.
