On August 29, Punahou hosted a thought-provoking conversation on the rule of law as part of the Davis Democracy Initiative. The event brought together two distinguished public leaders — Kenji Price, former U.S. Attorney for Hawai‘i, and Doug Chin, former Hawai‘i Attorney General — in a dialogue moderated by President Mike Latham.
Held in Luke Lecture Hall, the discussion offered students and faculty the rare opportunity to hear perspectives across political differences in today’s polarized climate. Price and Chin reflected on their experiences serving in state and federal roles, underscoring the importance of democratic institutions, civil discourse, and the rule of law in American public life.
The event served as a model of respectful dialogue, encouraging the Punahou community to engage thoughtfully with diverse viewpoints and to reflect on the responsibilities of citizenship.
