PFA Honors President Jim Scott ’70

The Parent Faculty Association (PFA) honored retiring President Jim Scott ’70 Friday at its final meeting of the school year. In his speech to members, Scott thanked parents for their role at the School.

“We understand that you have choices of where to educate your kids, yet you’ve chosen Punahou,” he said. “We understand your sacrifices, personally and financially. And although your kids don’t express it as well as they want to, they really are grateful. You’re giving your kids the wonderful gift – the gift of the Punahou education.”

Retiring PFA coordinator Wendy Bazemore, who has served the school for over 35 years, and fellow retiree Leonora Espania – longtime events coordinator for the President’s Office and President’s Home administrator – were also honored at the event.

Along with being the last gathering before the school year ends, the final PFA meeting provides school administrators an opportunity to recap noteworthy developments from the year and speak about future initiatives.
