PFA Welcomes Incoming Families

In the spirit of making lifelong connections and easing the transition to a new school, the PFA hosts a casual summer meet-and-greet for families new to Punahou. It’s an opportunity for families to mingle with seasoned Punahou parents, ask questions and familiarize themselves with the campus.

This year, the PFA Social for Families New to Punahou was held on July 16 outside on Punahou’s campus near Thurston Chapel and the Lily Pond. Incoming families began their afternoon with a welcome in Thurston Chapel. Students new to Punahou were then offered a time to get to know their peers with grade-level activities while their parents participated in ice-breaker games with seasoned Punahou parents. The Oahu College Band provided entertainment while parents mingled with Punahou’s PFA parent volunteers, student volunteers, Admission staff, O-Men and Pā‘ani leaders, Carnival 2023 leaders and Parent Advancement Council volunteers.

Everyone enjoyed cooling down with refreshing strawberry-lemonade and popping boba iced teas, and of course, the ultimate treat – Punahou’s famous caramel cuts.

One of the honored traditions of the PFA is to welcome incoming families to Punahou School. We are so happy to have families back on our beautiful campus and include all new families into our Punahou community.
