Spring Travel 2024

Supported by the Wo International Center, Punahou students and faculty traveled far and wide to soak up new experiences during the two-week spring break.

New Zealand

A group of 12 seventh and eighth graders and two Case Middle School faculty visited the South Island to learn about Maori culture by visiting sacred places, speaking with local elders and staying at a Marae. The group also spent time at a local school, hiking and camping in Abel Tasman National Park, and participating in sustainability workshops at the Golden Bay Sustainability Living Center.

Japan

From a rural village in Nagano to the metropolis of Tokyo, Academy students enjoyed a farm-stay, school exchange, site seeing, local cuisine and more.

California

During the recent Spring Activity Day travel opportunity to Monterey, California, students learned about the unique marine ecosystem of Monterey Bay in the context of the works of John Steinbeck while on board “The Western Flyer” fishing boat. The trip included visits to several sites related to the works of John Steinbeck.
