Beep, beep! It’s Takeout Tuesday, when we feature alumni-owned restaurants and food establishments in a video review. Let’s support these and other locally owned small businesses by ordering takeout.

Uahi Island Grill – located at 33 Aulike St. in Kailua – opened in September 2007. Chef and owner Nick Yamada ’97 creates delicious dishes with Asian and local flavors, using locally sourced meats and produce. The spacious dining room and outdoor bar area provide a relaxing and friendly vibe for the customers they consider part of their extended ‘ohana.

- Furikake calamari
- Seared ahi salad
- Garlic chicken
- Red curry fish
- Orange duck confit
- Sweet potato haupia pie
- Lilikoi cheesecake
Uahi Island Grill is open Monday through Saturday, from 11a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Brunch is served Sunday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and happy hour daily from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
