The Punahou community is rich with stories of serendipitous encounters in the most unlikely places. Time and again, Alumni Notes share heartwarming reports like: “While vacationing in Paris with my family, I ran into a classmate I hadn’t seen in over 20 years.” One such anecdote comes from Shayna Ching ’93 Kusumoto, who unexpectedly bumped into six of her classmates in Japan.
With more than 37,800 living alumni spread across 44 countries and five territories, the Punahou community transcends borders and time zones. Whether reconnecting on a secluded beach or in the midst of a bustling city, these colorful stories remind us that, for the Punahou family, the world often feels a little smaller – filled with familiar faces and unexpected reunions.
The Punahou Alumni Association proudly supports a network of eight vibrant chapters, spanning from New York to Tokyo, each committed to fostering connections and strengthening the bonds within the Buff ’n Blue ‘ohana. In addition to these official chapters, there are many more cities around the globe that host informal alumni gatherings, where Puns come together to reconnect, create new memories – and always, support each other.
