The Class of 2021 came together for a lively virtual Variety Show, “Tiers for Fears,” which was available to those who purchased tickets over Carnival weekend. The 45-minute student production incorporated theatre, music, dance and comedy in an original script that was directed by Travis Flazer, Punahou’s assistant technical director.
This year’s Variety Show followed Punahou seniors from the moment they learned about the pandemic through staging a Variety Show. Due to the pandemic, they planned three different versions of Variety Show based on Punahou’s color tiers of pandemic response. The Variety Show was a behind-the-scenes look at how these productions are created and, in the case of the pandemic, reimagined for this senior class.
