Kūpuna Lū‘au
Punahou’s most senior alumni – those celebrating their 65th through 85th Reunion – gathered for Kūpuna Lū‘au, an intimate and festive event held at the President’s Pavilion. Wai Chee Chun ’34 Yee, 101 years old and celebrating her 85th Reunion, was the event’s honored guest.
Alumni and their guests were greeted with a fresh plumeria lei. Student dancers and musicians entertained the crowd as guests enjoyed a Hawaiian lū‘au lunch and reminisced about their school days.
Campus Service Projects
Alumni converged on campus on June 6, 2019, for a day of community service to beautify two iconic landmarks on campus.
Physical Education faculty Rocky Higgins ’68 led a group of alumni into the Lily Pond to remove the invasive species and other unwanted and unhealthy substances. On the mauka side of campus, alumni cleared invasive species and cultivated native vegetation on Rocky Hill with Punahou Outdoor Education teachers Shelby Ho ’01 and Andy Nelson.
Class Gift Champagne Toast
This year’s Reunion Classes came together to raise a glass to their record-setting gift to Punahou: $14,782,595.
Reunion Committees from the classes of 1934 – 2014 presented President Jim Scott ’70 with the check at a celebratory gathering at the President’s Pavilion on June 3, 2019. Scott thanked the volunteer committee chairs for their hard work and commitment to their fundraising efforts.
