Hina Ricardo ’23 and Kyler Saoit ’23, and some helpers, made banana lumpia to share with Academy students in celebration of Filipino culture. Academy students lined up in the Quad to sample the delicious treats, which they received in exchange for answering questions about the Philippines.
The project was part of the Global Sustainability by Design: Constructing Race and the American Experience course, taught by Rachel Navarro and Kaela Clapp. “We wanted to bring more attention to Filipino history and traditions,” said Ricardo.
