Lessons about animals and coding came together during a Design Technology and Engineering project. Led by Liz Castillo, first grade students researched an animal, created a paper sculpture of their animal and made fact cards about their creature. They then attached their animal to a programmable robot, called a Bee-Bot, and programmed a code so that their Bee-Bot critter would stop at fact cards set up on a grid. It was an enjoyable and educational experience for the class.
