Meet Sparky, the newest addition to the Sidney and Minnie Kosasa Community for Grades 2 – 5. The bronze dog by animal sculptor Mick Doellinger was installed over the holidays just outside the Junior School Learning Commons.
Sparky received a warm welcome from intrigued students as they arrived on the first day after winter break. The sculpture reflects the value that Punahou places on exposing children to art and the importance of aesthetics throughout the Kosasa Community experience.
“It’s been fun watching the warm reception to Sparky from kids and adults alike so far, and we look forward to more happy engagement with him,” said Junior School Principal Paris Priore-Kim ’76.
