Punahou’s robotics team, 6962 Pokébolts, won the Hawai‘i FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship in December. With this victory, they advance to the World Championships in Houston this April to compete against top teams from across the globe.

Their success follows an impressive milestone in November, when they held the No. 1 ranking on the global FTC scoreboard, which is comprised of more than 5,000 teams worldwide. The Pokébolts stand out for their custom-designed robot and advanced AI programming. Their win highlights the strength of Punahou’s robotics program, with five teams from grades 7 – 12 qualifying for states.
