Puns were in full force in New York City this winter – proving that buff ’n blue bonds extend far beyond lush Mānoa Valley. On January 29th, Lauren Cabral ’97 Salem hosted an intimate gathering, where alumni from the 1960s through the 1990s shared stories of campus days while taking in the views from her beautiful home. Amid the warmth of Lauren’s hospitality, classmates reconnected over shared memories, finding that despite the years, their common roots remained as strong as ever.
In a separate event on February 5, the energy shifted toward the vibrant streets of Chelsea, as graduates from the Classes of 2000 through 2022 gathered at the Ivory Peacock for a high-energy happy hour. Over pupu and drinks, these recent graduates swapped career updates and city tips, while taking in the warmth of being with their Hawai‘i friends.
These joyful gatherings were made possible by the dedication of the Punahou Alumni Association New York chapter. A heartfelt mahalo goes to Maile Dyer ’08, Michelle Yoshida ’08, Kulani Jenkins ’08 and Mindy Price ’97 for their incredible work in bringing these events to life.
Whether in a cozy living room or a bustling lounge, these moments highlighted a timeless truth: once a Buff ’n Blue, always a Buff ’n Blue.
