Several Punahou classes and JROTC students combined efforts to recognize veterans residing at the Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Maunalani Heights. Kindergartners from Kina‘u Hirahara ’86 Shipman’s class and second graders, including those from Joanne Kuwada’s class, filled a large box with handwritten cards, letters and posters addressed to veterans. The items were delivered to the center ahead of Wednesday’s service, in lieu of the annual live program with Punahou JROTC students.
