
Less than a year after she swung her first racket, Tracy Kunichika ’81 won the Hawai’i Kai Junior’s 10-and-under title. Tracy played Varsity tennis for Punahou, winning state singles for three consecutive years from 1979 to 1981. She was named Athlete of the Year and honored as a Scholar-Athlete in 1981.
After being offered tennis scholarships from a host of schools, tracy chose Harvard University, where she went on to play on the Women’s Varsity team from 1982 – 1984 in both singles and doubles.
