Alumni from Classes ending in 3 and 8 capped off their milestone reunions and experienced the joy of being together again on campus at the Alumni Lū’au.
More than 1,900 attendees from the newest graduating Class of 2023 to the 75th Class of 1948 attended the June 10 event on Middle Field. Following tradition, the 50th Class of 1973 marched into the tent to a standing ovation and cheers from fellow alumni.
As guests enjoyed the lū’au meal prepared by the Imu Gang and Dole Hall crew, they were entertained by the Alumni Glee Club and Holokū Musicians. Uncle’s Jukebox, a band led by Scott Imanaka ’07 and Nick Kaleikini ’08, got the crowd primed for the evening’s headliner, Henry Kapono ’67.
Kapono’s infectious energy electrified the crowd and brought everyone to their feet to dance and harmonize with classics like “Good Times Together,” “Sweet Caroline” and “Brown-Eyed Girl.”
The Alumni Lū’au was an unforgettable celebration with cherished moments of laughter, music, and fun that will be remembered for years to come.
