Alumni Week has been rescheduled from June to the Discoverers’ Day long weekend, Oct. 8 – 12, 2020. “In weighing what to do about Reunion Week, there were many considerations, including the time and efforts spent by our Reunion committee members over the last many months, the anticipation of our reunioning Classes to celebrate their milestone years, and of course, the health and safety of our ‘ohana,” said Punahou Director of Alumni Relations Doug Rigg ’84. “We feel rescheduling Alumni Week to October is the best way to safely hold our celebration.”
Because school is in session in October, the schedule for Alumni Week will be adjusted slightly to limit the impact on students and student activities. Here’s the tentative schedule:
Thursday, Oct. 8
Kūpuna Lūʻau, President’s Home
Friday, Oct. 9
Punahou Alumni Association Awards and Alumni Celebration, Rice Field
Saturday, Oct. 10
Class cocktail parties, off campus
Sunday, Oct. 11
Alumni Lūʻau, Rice Field
Monday, Oct. 12 (Discoverers’ Day holiday)
Holoholo Punahou 5K Fun Run/Walk, Punahou campus
Class family picnics, off campus
*Class activities may be scheduled in the days before or after the School-hosted events.
Registration for the rescheduled Alumni Week will begin in July. Reunioners with questions should email email@example.com.
Punahou also is considering the many ways to give the Class of 2020 their special moment. The School expects to make further announcements about Commencement, Punahou’s other year-end tradition, by May 5.
