Grades 6 – 8 students marked May Day with the presentation of He Aloha Kuʻu One Hānau on Thursday, April 23, continuing a long-standing tradition that honors Hawaiian culture through music, chant and hula.
Held in two performances at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., the program featured student performers sharing stories rooted in place, identity and heritage. This year’s program also honored the life and legacy of Mary Kawena Pukui, whose contributions to Hawaiian language and culture helped shape Punahou’s Hawaiian Studies program.
Please enjoy these photos of the performances!
