Seventh graders removed invasive algae from Maunalua Bay, long considered to be an important environmental and cultural treasure of Hawai‘i. The experience was part of an Outdoor Education project with Mālama Maunalua, a nonprofit stewardship organization assisting the Maunalua region by restoring native populations of seagrass, algae and coral.
