Summer Theatre: ‘How to Eat Like a Child’

Middle schoolers in the Theatre Production: Musical Theatre Experience are bringing the one-act musical “How to Eat Like a Child” to the stage this summer. The show runs in Dillingham Theatre July 19 and 20. Free tickets are available by reservation.

The colorful family-friendly musical offers tongue-in-cheek advice for children on how to beg your parents for a dog, how to bug siblings, how to practice the violin, how to act after being sent to your room and more.

Over the five-week course, the 28 students worked under the guidance of Punahou’s Theatre faculty on acting, singing, costume design and technical theatre.

“The students had a blast preparing costumes, sets and characters for the summer production, many of whom were new to theatre,” said Director Melinda Moore.
