Beep, beep! It’s Takeout Tuesday, when we feature alumni-owned restaurants and food establishments in a video review. Let’s support these and other locally owned small businesses by ordering takeout.

Café Kaila, located in Market City Shopping Center at 2919 Kapiolani Blvd., has been serving up award-winning sweet and savory breakfasts since 2007. Chef and owner Chrissie Kaila Castillo ’94 makes some amazing breakfast classics made from scratch using the freshest ingredients and organic when available. This Hale Aina Award winner not only serves up great vegetarian options and twists on your classic breakfast items, Castillo also plates a wide selection of mouthwatering sandwiches, salad and hot entrees. Café Kaila also has two locations in Japan.

- Vegetarian bagel sandwich – spinach, mushroom and eggs
- Hawaiian Breakfast fruit plate with banana bread
- Cinnamon French toast with strawberries
- Meat and cheese omelet with local eggs – Port sausage and Spam
- Vegetarian wrap with homemade salsa and guacamole
- Loco Moco with special fried rice
- Vegetarian breakfast quesadillas
- Kalua pig Benedict
