On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Punahou’s Junior School community came together to celebrate Unity Day, a national event that promotes kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
Started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011, Unity Day is held each October during National Bullying Prevention Month to encourage communities to stand united against bullying and to create environments where everyone feels they belong.
Throughout the month, Punahou K – 8 students explored the theme of unity through weekly classroom discussions and activities focused on empathy, respect and positive relationships. The celebration culminated on Unity Day, when students, faculty and staff wore orange as a collective symbol of togetherness. The bright color filled campus with a visible reminder of Punahou’s commitment to fostering a caring and inclusive community.
