Alumni Lū‘au Celebrates 2s and 7s

Alumni from Classes ending in 2 and 7 celebrated their milestone reunions and experienced the joy of being together again on campus at the first Alumni Lū‘au held in person since 2019.

More than 1,700 attendees from the newest graduating Class of 2022 to the 75th Class of 1947 attended the June 11 event on Middle Field. Following tradition, the 50th Class of 1972 marched into the tent to a standing ovation and cheers from fellow alumni.

Guests enjoyed Hawaiian food prepared by the Imu Gang Emeritus, Dole Hall staff and Reppun Farms and entertainment from Ke‘olu, Kualoa, Danny “Kaniala” Makainai ’97 and friends, and the evening’s crowd-rousing headliner, Henry Kapono ’67.

This year’s lū‘au was hosted by the 24th Class of 1998. Congratulations to the Classes ending in 2 and 7, and mahalo to all the volunteers and committee members who made the week so special.
