Big Shot: Pun Pride

Punahou cheerleaders practice a cheer before Flaming “P” on Rice Field. Although the pandemic once again required this year’s Flaming “P” to be virtual, many of the traditions came alive online at the late September event. To kick off the lighting of the “P,” the entire senior Class took part in a pre-recorded passing of the torch with their various advisories. A group of students then lit the “P” and the evening ended with “O‘ahu a” and cheerleaders leading “Strawberry Shortcake.” Although there were no spectators for this year’s Flaming “P,” many families pre-purchased Punahou chili meal packs featuring caramel cuts ahead of the event.
