Buff ’n Blue Back to School Brings Alumni Together for a Day of Learning and Connection

As part of Alumni Week, Buff ’n Blue Back to School welcomed alumni from across generations for a day filled with learning, fellowship, and hands-on experiences that celebrated the spirit of lifelong education. The special program brought graduates back to campus to reconnect with one another while learning from fellow alumni, faculty, and staff in settings both inside and outside the classroom.

Participants immersed themselves in a variety of engaging activities that highlighted Hawaiian culture, service, and teamwork. Alumni learned the art of hula and lei making, gaining a deeper appreciation for traditions that continue to shape our school community. Others joined meaningful service projects, working side by side to give back and strengthen the bonds that connect generations of Buff ’n Blue.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity to sail aboard Kamaola, Punahou School’s waʻa kaula. Guided by knowledgeable alumni and staff, participants experienced firsthand the values of collaboration, stewardship, and exploration that are central to voyaging traditions.

Throughout the day, alumni shared stories, exchanged perspectives, and learned from one another, demonstrating that education extends far beyond graduation.
