Local politicians recently visited campus to share their experiences with Academy students on running for office and serving the public. Duke Aiona, the Republican candidate for governor, and Josh Green, the Democratic candidate, held separate Q&As with senior Capstone students and others in attendance. Academy students of the Business, Organizations and Society class welcomed Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi. The politicians touched on themes of teamwork and leadership, how government and voting works, and encouraged students to follow their passions as tomorrow’s leaders.
