In April, Punahou Dance School’s spring production of “Robin Hood” brought energy, creativity and a strong sense of community to the stage, featuring the talents of 419 students.

Inspired by “The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood”, the performance followed the legendary archer’s journey from the bustling Nottingham Archery Battle to the enchanting Sherwood Forest and into the heart of Nottingham Castle. Along the way, audiences were treated to lively choreography, playful storytelling and a cast of familiar characters – from Little John and Friar Tuck to Maid Marian – who joined together in a spirited stand for justice and friendship.

Divided into two acts, the showcase blended humor, adventure and heart. Act I introduced Robin’s daring escape and the formation of his band in Sherwood Forest, while Act II highlighted clever disguises, festive dances and a joyful village wedding celebration that brought the story to a triumphant close.

The production reflected not only the students’ growth in technique and artistry, but also the values at the core of the Dance School – collaboration, courage and community. Months of preparation by students, faculty, staff and families culminated in a performance that inspired and delighted audiences.

The Dance School extends its sincere thanks to all who contributed their time, talent and support to make “Robin Hood” a memorable success.
