Punahou Falls to Saint Louis in Football

The varsity football team narrowly lost their first game this season to nationally ranked Saint Louis last Saturday night. The Crusaders are ranked No. 6 in the country in the USA Today Super 25 and No. 7 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25.

The Buff ’n Blue opened the game with a 95-yard kickoff return by Vincent Terrell ’20. Amazingly, it was the first time that Saint Louis had trailed an opponent all season. Punahou held a 16 – 6 lead going into halftime. Saint Louis came back in the third quarter to take the lead 19 – 16. The Crusaders fought off a comeback bid in the fourth quarter to win the game, 25 – 19.

Next up for the Buff ’n Blue will be Campbell High School. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
