On May 21, the Kapuana Middle School Choral Festival was held at Dillingham Hall with music, movement and a powerful message of unity. More than 320 student voices came together in two performances, celebrating “Hawaiʻi and the World” through the theme: “One World, One People.”
The concert featured songs in English, Hawaiian, Swahili, isiZulu and Samoan, alongside hula, contemporary dance and Samoan dance performances that reflected the richness of cultures across our global community.
A heartfelt mahalo goes to our incredible guest musicians – Jake Shimabukuro on ʻukulele; Lauren Chang ’01 Williams, Mia Porreca and Galu Aga on percussion; Ernie Provencher on bass; Arlene Koh ’93 on violin; and Linda Asahina on piano.
Most of all, congratulations to our student performers for sharing their voices, spirit and aloha with the Punahou community.
