Virtual Concerts Continue with Pōmaika’i Keawe ’99 Lyman

Pomaika’i Keawe ’99 Lyman

It was a kani ka pila with family on Friday afternoon as Pomaika’i Keawe ’99 Lyman continued the Punahou Alumni Virtual Backyard Concert Series from her tutu’s living room in Tantalus.

The Hawaiian falsetto singer was joined by daughter Mālie Lyman, father Eric and friends Brad Watanabe ’04 and Halehaku Seabury.

Hundreds of alumni and friends have tuned in on Friday afternoons (or evenings, on the Mainland) to listen to Hawaiian music in the company of friends. For many, the concerts have been a welcome respite from quarantines and worries about the coronavirus pandemic, as well as a way to catch up with classmates and friends near and far.

Past concerts featuring Henry Kapono ’67 are archived here. Both Kapono and Lyman will be performing live at Punahou’s virtual Reunion celebration, Buff ‘n Blue Together: Live from Punahou on Saturday, June 6. The event will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube at 4 p.m. HST.
