Home cook-alongs, a trend popularized during the pandemic, returned this spring with two additional online cooking classes taught by alumni chefs. The Alumni Chef series of classes was hosted by Punahou Alumni Association Hawai‘i chapter.
Attendees joined from their own kitchens – many in different time zones – to create goong tung (Thai-style bucket shrimp) with Donn Chongsiriwatana ’97 and sous vide garlic steak with Chef Jon Matsubara ’91 of Feast Restaurant.
The intimate setting allowed alumni to get to know each other, pick up a new cooking skill and create a delicious dish. Both sessions were also recorded for alumni to watch on their own time.
