From MIT to Leeward Community College, Punahou’s college fair brought together an impressive variety of institutions, giving students a chance to explore diverse higher education paths. Held Tuesday in Thurston Chapel Courtyard, the event featured 43 colleges, including Seattle University and California Aeronautical University, connecting nearly 200 sophomores, juniors and seniors with representatives from across the country.
Scheduled ahead of other public college fairs across O‘ahu and the neighbor islands, Punahou’s inaugural event provided a unique opportunity for students to engage with a wide cross-section of college representatives in a more personalized setting.
For the college representatives, it was a chance to learn more about Punahou. Visiting representatives toured the campus, learned about its academic offerings, and connected with a diverse group of students. The day concluded with a pau hana reception for guests and remarks from Punahou President Mike Latham ’86.
“There were a lot of positive comments from our guests. The representatives got to know us better, spoke with prospective students, and learned more about the many opportunities our students are involved in,” said Ryan Scudder, director of College Counseling. “It was a successful inaugural event.”
