More than 30 Punahou music faculty and alumni took the stage at Dillingham Hall on Saturday, September 12 for the Punahou Music Faculty Recital, performing together in an afternoon celebrating music and community.
The program showcased the talents of artist-educators from Punahou’s Music School and Music Department alongside alumni, with selections spanning classical, contemporary, bluegrass, jazz and Hawaiian music.
The 90-minute recital featured a wide range of soloists and ensembles, including piano, bass, violin, fiddle, slack key guitar, ʻukulele, bassoon, horn and vocal performances. Adding to the program’s variety were unique musical combinations including a one piano-six hand ensemble and a shakuhachi and piano trio.
Bringing the music faculty and alumni together, the recital celebrated the enduring bonds and shared love of music that connect the Punahou community.
