Nearly 40 students in grades 6 – 8 delighted audiences last Friday and Saturday with two performances of “Shrek The Musical JR.” at Dillingham Hall. The production was based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.
In the musical, everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairy-tale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find a sense of belonging. The irreverently funny show was part romance and part twisted fairytale, with a powerful message for the whole family.
“This was a story of love and acceptance,” said director Vanessa Manuel-Mazzullo. “It was a delightful, fun and poignant musical for all ages.”
