In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, PUEO pivoted in less than a month to develop and implement programming online, equipping all students with laptops and arranging for internet access when needed, at a time when HIDOE schools had shuttered. In 2021, PUEO offered hybrid remote and in-person learning options and returned to predominantly in-person classes in 2022.
