Before the coronavirus pandemic, Saturday, June 6 was supposed to be a day for reuniting, ‘ono food and Hawaiian music and hula at Alumni Lū’au. With Alumni Week now postponed, the party is moving online and expanding so the Punahou community around the world can participate.
Buff ’n Blue Together: Live from Punahou will be broadcast on the Punahou Alumni Facebook page and YouTube on Saturday, June 6 at 4 p.m. HST. The event will be hosted by Lauren Day ’13 and Kainoa Carlson ’07 with live musical performances by Henry Kapono ’67 and Pomaika’i Keawe ’99 Lyman.
Other event highlights:
- Performances by Tropic Breeze (Gary Pacarro ’70, Steve Emura ’70, Marshall Kaniho ’75 and Fred Kenison), Curtis Kamiya ’95 and Darin Leong ’95
- Hula performed by 25th and 50th Reunion classmates
- A message to the Punahou community from President Mike Latham ’86
- Highlights from the Class of 2020 Commencement
Guests viewing on Facebook will be able to comment on the program, send aloha to others watching, request special songs from the musicians, and share emojis.
