A new tradition began as family, friends and faculty celebrated the Class of 2018’s graduation at the Stan Sheriff Center on the University of Hawai‘i, Mānoa campus.
Introducing President-elect Dr. Michael Latham ’86, currently the vice president for academic affairs and dean of Grinnell College. He will become Punahou’s 17th president on July 1, 2019.
It was an event-filled week in early June for classes ending in 3 or 8 when alumni, friends and guests from near and far reconnected for the School’s annual Reunion celebration.

Eighty students, 27 adults, six tour coordinators, three large buses – Punahou was big in Japan this Spring Break.
Students in Kindergarten – grade 12 shared stories through mele and dance at this year’s Academy Holokū Pageant and Junior School May Day programs.
Presented by Punahou middle-school students, the fantastical musical extravaganza of “Seussical JR.” embodied a message of perseverance and loyalty.
Nearly 500 students in grades K – 12 showcased their talents in the Dance School’s year-end “pau hana.”
Elila Stone ’91 Levinson will join the School as K – 1 administrative dean.
Sally Mingarelli is the new Academy assistant principal for curriculum and faculty.
Follow the progress as this project enters its final year. Kosasa Community is scheduled to open in fall 2019.
