Good Food and Friends at Mingle and Jingle

Punahou’s college-aged alumni – those in the Classes of 2016 – 2019 – were welcomed home with their favorite food and the company of friends at the annual Mingle and Jingle event held at the President’s Pavilion.

The casual get-together featured shave ice from Waiola Shave Ice, poke bowls and Portuguese bean soup made by Aunty Reney Ching, chocolate chip cookies and caramel cuts.

Many in the crowd of 150 are on holiday break from colleges and universities on the mainland and abroad, and they were eager to share their experiences and catch up with old friends. It was also the first chance for many to meet new President Mike Latham ’86.

Guests were encouraged to donate school supplies to Strong Start 4 Kids, an organization started by Shea Sakahara ’23. Donations were given to Puuhale Elementary School.
